Eagle Eye Solutions powers award-winning mobile gift voucher redemption scheme
London 6th July 2010 An Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) initiative, developed by mobile voucher technology company Eagle Eye Solutions (EES) has helped Aurora Fashions - the group behind high street brands such as Oasis, Karen Millen, Warehouse and Coast – to win an award at the Retail Week Technology Awards last month.
EES worked in conjunction with Aurora’s IT team to roll out new EPoS systems which featured a redemption scheme releasing peer-to-peer mobile voucher technology across all its Oasis stores nationwide. The service, developed by EES, allows website visitors to the fashion group’s branded sites to purchase mobile vouchers in denominations of £10-£300, which can then be redeemed in-store via the EPoS system. The initiative is designed to make the shopping experience more accessible for busy shoppers by placing mobile vouchers at the heart of the retail experience.
Rod Anthony, eCommerce R&D Manager at Aurora Fashions Group, said: “It’s important for Aurora Fashions to invest in new innovations like SMS vouchers that help our customers. By using the latest technology available to us we are setting ourselves apart from our competitors, and are ensuring our customers have services available to them that make their lives easier. The success of the system means we will now look towards further extensions of the service across our other retail brands.”
The Mobile Gift Voucher can be scheduled to be sent via SMS to the recipient at a specific date and time, with a personalised message. The recipient will receive the SMS message with these details together with a unique redemption code.
The existing Oasis EPoS system has been configured by BT Expedite to integrate with Eagle Eye Solution’s mobile voucher technology to deliver this offering to the customer. The electronic vouchers redemption engine is analogous to an acquiring bank on the financial networks. The system is controlled through the use of unique codes that are entered to the EPoS system via the sales assistant screen or via the customer entering the code through the Chip and Pin terminal.
Since its launch on 8th December 2009 sales of mobile gift vouchers at Oasis stores have out sold online purchases of traditional paper vouchers at a ratio of 3:1, providing a return on investment for the project in 58 days.
Stephen Rothwell, CEO of Eagle Eye Solutions, said: “We are very proud to have developed a mobile vouchers redemption scheme which has enabled Aurora to win this prestigious Retail Week Technology award. It has proved that mobile vouchers have moved into the high street retail experience and demonstrates the level of eye-catching innovation EES can provide to consumer-facing brands.”
