BIRMINGHAM, June 21, 2012 - A high-profile and unique event for art lovers in West Midlands to welcome the Queen and Royal family to visit the region.
On July 7, 2012, art lovers in West Midlands, UK will have chance to contemplate a spectacular sand portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II in a high profile event held in Second City Suite, Birmingham . This is the biggest artwork in sand painting made by a Vietnamese talented artist, Ms Thuy Van with the size of 0.9 meters in width and 1.25 meters in height. It takes up to two months to complete the portrait and the artist has to be extremely patient, detail-focused, and adept at using just a few simple tools like long spoon to pour little amount of sand into a big glass frame, a stick to press the sand to craft a heart-touching artwork.
Fixed sand painting is absolutely unique craft art from Vietnam. The art works are made totally from natural sand together with very simple tools and mainly rely on the meticulous, aesthetic, inspirational and skilful hands of the artist. ‘We wish to introduce this pure art to UK art lovers on a very special occasion of the country, Diamond Jubilee. As Her Majesty the Queen and Royal Family will visit West Midlands on 11th and 12th July 2012, so we aim to make PURE ART event as the warmest welcome message to the Royal engagement before their trip to our region’, said Andy Le, CEO of OST Ltd, the event organizer.
Furthermore, in order to make the event more fascinating and unforgettable, a 30-minute-sand-animation on stage to tell a story of the Queen in her 60 years on throne will be performed by Tri Duc, a talented sand artist from Vietnam. The participants will look back amazing highlights of the Queen’s life, from the time of her birth, her emotional speech to children across the world during the Second World War on BBC; the scene of the Princess Elizabeth’s accession to throne on 6th February 1953 to her wedding with Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Multi-millionaire and social entrepreneur Kevin Green of Wales is a great supporter of the event. The wealth guru is very impressed with the sand art and is dedicated to share his inspiration to the participants through the networking session and his speech on stage about Art and Business. PURE ART also received great testimonials from other celebrities, footballers Elliott and Kyle Bennett; World Series of Poker bracelet-winner Devilfish.
