Long Day's Journey Into Night - The Play

This compelling family drama, written by Eugene O'Neil features the Tyrone family.  James Tyrone (Suchet) is a once succesful but disillusioned actor. His wife Mary Tyrone (Metcalf) has recently returned to the family after a treatment for Morphine addiction. Their two sons, failures and alcoholics!

Set during a long summer's day, Long Day's Journey into Night sees the family members constantly at war with each other: old wounds are opened and old arguments revisited.

A semi-autobiographical piece based on O’Neill’s own home life and family, the back story of the main character, played by Suchet, also mirrors Suchet's own story as an actor made famous by a single character.
