Denbighshire based business, Denbigh Army Surplus, has decided that somethings are just more important than money and in their case it’s the safety of local mountaineers.
The North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) team is a funded on donations and Denbigh Army Surplus hope that stocking Outdoor Enthusiast magazine will help keep the team responding to local emergencies.
The quarterly publication can be found on the counter of their shop on Denbigh's Colomendy Industrial Estate, right next to a NEWSAR collection tin.
Although the RRP printed on Outdoor Enthusiast's cover is £3.50, Denbigh Army Surplus are happy for you to pay what you'd like for it. Everything goes straight into the NEWSAR collection tin.
The magazine covers everything from hill walking, skiing through to SCUBA diving. In the latest edition there's a great celebrity interview with, skier, Graham Bell and some great gear reviews.
We've always been an outdoor family and although we've never had to call on the services of a Rescue team, we're certainly glad they exist.
When Outdoor Enthusiast got in touch to see if we'd stock the mag, with no cost to ourselves, it didn't feel right charging our customers and pocketing 100% profit.
A number of our customers are members of NEWSAR, so we though it would be a great way to give a little back.
Rich Brady | Denbigh Army Surplus
We're delighted to hear that Denbigh Army Surplus is donating all of the profits made from Outdoor Enthusiast mag to NEWSAR. We know how underfunded these local rescue teams are and that every little bit of cash makes a real difference...
We don't just write about the outdoors, the outdoors is how we unwind, keep fit and get our kicks; we have a great deal of respect for anyone that's prepared to go out, what ever the weather, to ensure our safe return home if things go a wrong.
James Rix | Marketing Manager, Outdoor Enthusiast Magazine
Denbigh Army Surplus is a family run business that operates out of it's warehouse in Denbigh, North Wales.
We sell Army Surplus to members of the Armed Forces, TA and general public a like. The durability of the clothing and equipment we sell lends itself to the farming and building industries and we often get members of the motorbike and bushcraft fraternity in too.
We've been on the industrial estate for nearly 25 years and we intend to stay here for many more...
