Domestic violence charity seeking transgender worker

Broken Rainbow UK, the national domestic violence helpline for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people is recruiting a trans person to take calls on the helpline.

Trans sessional helpline worker 

Part time and self employed

£14-18 per hour based on experience and qualifications 

Broken Rainbow UK supports lesbian, gay, bi and trans (LGBT) people experiencing domestic violence. We run the only national helpline service for LGBT people, their family and friends, and agencies around the issue of domestic violence. 

We are looking for trans sessional staff with excellent communication skills to take calls on our helpline. You should have helpline experience, ideally in LGBT or domestic violence roles. You will need to be able to use social media and respond to enquiries via SMS and email too. 

Location: Kings Cross, London (transport zone: 1) 

Available sessions: Mondays 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesdays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pmWednesdays 10:00 am – 1:00 pm and1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Thursdays 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm and 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Broken Rainbow UK is the only national charity that helps lesbian, gay, bi and trans (LGBT) people who experience domestic violence.

We run the National LGBT Domestic Violence Helpline, where we give listening support to LGBT people experiencing domestic violence, including their friends, families and the agencies that support them.

The National LGBT Domestic Violence Helpline is available by calling 0300 999 5428. It is open on Mondays and Thursdays, 2-8 pm, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 am-5 pm.

We also give email advice to those who email help@brokenrainbow.org.uk.
