An ambulance crew arrived within minutes after Mr Hamilton activated the system’s wireless panic button when Mrs Hamilton was suddenly taken seriously ill.

“When I reached Patricia she was clearly very unwell,” said Mr Hamilton I pressed the wireless panic button rather than dialling 999 because it was close at hand and it can take time to get through to the emergency services sometimes, and this was an emergency.  Once I had pressed the button on the device I was able to speak directly to Direct Response’s monitoring station and the ambulance arrived very quickly afterwards.”

Mrs Hamilton spent five days in hospital with a suspected Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), which is a transient stroke that lasts only a few minutes.  She is now thankfully back at home and being looked after by her husband.
