Lead certification in accordance with the EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) rule will be offered April 12 in Madison, Wisconsin, and April 13 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
These Lead Safe Renovator - Initial classes will be instructed by Samantha Dickman, president of Testudo LLC, Wisconsin's leading RRP training provider. Property managers, landlords, and remodeling contractors of all types—including plumbers, electricians, painters, window installers, and even wood floor refinishers—are required to carry this certification if disturbing lead-based coatings (including lead paint, stain, shellac, varnish, etc.) in any home or child-occupied building (school, daycare, etc.) built before 1978.
The April 12 class will be held at Kleenmark University at 1206 Ann Street, Madison, and you may sign up here. The April 13 class will be held at Comfort Suites at 300 East Main Street, Lake Geneva, and you may sign up here. Each class will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Space is limited, and priority will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The cost of each course is $240. All students who hold Wisconsin's Dwelling Contractor Qualifier license will receive eight hours of continuing education credits for attending these courses. During this training, contractors and property managers will learn about all facets of the RRP rule, including why it was enacted and how they can successfully comply with the rule to avoid government fines.
Samantha Dickman has thus far taught almost 1,000 of Wisconsin's remodeling contractors about the RRP rule. Testudo LLC holds Lead Safe Renovator training sessions throughout Wisconsin. By taking attaining this certification, you can help reduce lead poisonings.
