Little Mix Remain Favourites as X Factor Final Looms

This weekend sees the close of the 2011 series of X Factor with a two day final show piece that will see Little Mix, Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily compete for the title.

Little Mix enter the final weekend as favourites but this is a three horse race that is too close to call. Little Mix are favourites at 5/4 with William Hill. The leading British bookmaker then has Marcus Collins installed as second favourite at 2/1 with Amelia Lily in third place at 5/2.

This is the closest X Factor final in years and despite fix claims materializing this week that suggested the winner had already been determined after an image of Amelia Lily as the X Factor winner was uploaded accidentally onto the HMV website, it is anyone’s guess who will win. The HMV website controversy was later blamed on all three finalists having had images created and it was just Amelia Lily’s image that was uploaded by mistake.

It has been rumoured that the finalists will duet with their mentors for the final meaning Little Mix will perform a song with Tulisa, Marcus Collins and Gary Barlow will sing together and Amelia Lily will perform a duet with Kelly Rowland.

There is further controversy leading up to the final with rumours suggesting that Kelly Rowland is attempting to sabotage Amelia Lily’s hopes of winning the competition. Kelly chose to boot off Amelia in the first week of live shows, instead choosing to move forward with Misha B, Sophie Habibis and Janet Devlin. However, Amelia has outlasted all three of the other female acts and that has not shone well on Kelly.

For those viewers and punters that take a more light hearted approach to the show, they can now also take advantage of a specials market offered by Paddy Power. The Irish bookmaker is letting punters place a bet on where Kelly Rowland’s fake mole will appear next. Her “designer mole” has been in constant transition throughout the series and punters can now bet on where it will appear on Saturday night. Paddy Power has the left cheek as favourite at 11/4 with the right cheek at 3/1. Punters can have an outside punt on it appearing on Louis Walsh’s face at 25/1.
