NEW E-LEARNING COURSE TO HELP STUDENTS FIND WORK

On the day the House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee identifies the transition from education to the workplace as crucial to helping solve youth unemployment, Marshall ACM, one of the UK’s leading e-learning companies, has launched an employability course for students aged 16 to 18.

More Information

Developed in association with talent management practitioner 10Eighty, the highly interactive course features rich graphics and audio-visual content, and blends a variety of question types that can be used as part of student induction, skills development, or citizen-related programmes.

Those taking the course will be provided with greater awareness of the range of employment opportunities open to them, such as vocational and academic options. It also helps prepare them for that all-important first job after leaving college, and gives them a better understanding of the importance of a positive attitude.  It also highlights the importance of planning, appearance, good and bad work conduct, and networking.

The House of Commons Work and Pensions Committee second report “Youth Unemployment and the Youth Contract”, suggests that a long-term solution to youth unemployment will need to go far beyond the Youth Contract. It suggests that the support provided to make the transition from education to work is crucial for young people’s long-term prospects. Something which Marshall ACM’s CEO and founder, David Marshall, agrees with.

“Increasingly employers want educational institutions to prepare their students both for the workplace and work placements and complain that every day employability skills are sadly lacking,” says Marshall.

“Meanwhile students complain that the careers advice available to them is old fashioned, and has not had input from industry leaders.  Our course has been designed specifically to help address these issues and we think it will prove a very useful tool to students seeking that all-important first job.”

The course is ideal for any institution looking to provide high quality employability training on a sophisticated e-learning system to its entire student body, and its accompanying tracking system enables staff to easily check usage levels.

Regular updates provided by Marshall ACM ensure that those buying the course have a version which contains the latest changes on such things as current legislation.

Marshall ACM has built the course on a platform that is used for training a corporate client base that includes The Bank of England, University of Oxford, and The NHS Confederation and Volkswagen Group.
