RSI Leadership Exchange - October 2, 2012 - Toronto, Ontario
Sustainability and innovation - more than a passing fad
“Where sustainability works best is where an organization’s leadership gets it and wants it to happen and enables it to happen - so everyone from the person who sweeps the floor to the finance director feels part of that conversation.” - Will Day, Chairman, Great Britain’s Sustainable Development Commission (2010)
Toronto, ON - August 30, 2012 - Are you a business leader who understands the critical importance of sustainability and innovation and their impact? If so, consider joining like-minded people for the RSI Leadership Exchange. The Exchange, planned for October 2, 2012 in Toronto is designed exclusively for CEOs; CSOs; senior business, sustainability and innovation leaders; entrepreneurs; and subject matter experts.
Unlike traditional, highly scripted conferences and executive gatherings, the RSI Leadership Exchange is a dynamic process based on the principles of SparkplugTM, a process that unlocks the collective wisdom of the group. The day long conversation, hosted by LoyaltyOne, focuses on business success powered by sustainability and innovation. A cross-industry exchange, the event promises an opportunity to meet peers that you would not normally encounter.
According to successful U.S. politician and manufacturing entrepreneur William Sprague, "Do not wait to strike until the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking." That's the idea behind Rethink Sustainability Initiatives (RSI), a think tank to exchange ideas that get in front of emerging trends, harness ideas and use the energy created to brainstorm leading edge sustainable business solutions. "Corporate success is fueled by innovation. Innovation is fostered by sustainability--looking at what we do today with the future in mind," says Peter Love, Vice-Chair of the RSI Leadership Exchange. "If you want a meaningful legacy, you will want to be part of this conversation."
Other confirmed participants include Melanie Steiner, Chief Risk Officer for PVH, one of the largest apparel companies globally. Prior to this role, Melanie was the Climate Change and Sustainability Services Market Leader for Ernst & Young where she was responsible for driving market leadership and revenue growth for the practice. In this role, Melanie worked with many companies across sectors to help them manage risk, create winning strategies, and track and report on progress.
Nadine Gudz, Sustainability Strategy Director for Interface, and a RSI Board Director, notes that "The exchange promises to be a unique learning experience. Participants will leave with valuable new business connections, feeling energized and inspired, better equipped to advance their sustainability visions."
