Newly elected MEF Global Board represents diversity and maturity of mobile ecosystem

MEF, the global community for mobile content and commerce, has announced the results of its 2012 Global board elections with the following representatives elected for the 2012 / 2014 term.

•          Peter Parmenter - Head of New Platforms and OEM, Electronic Arts

•          Mark Harding - Media and Digital Content Director, KPMG

•          Peter Northing - Head of Red Bull MOBILE

•          Jose Valles - Director of Enabling Platforms & Developer Ecosystems, Telefonica

Red Bull MOBILE joins the association for the first time with Head of Mobile Peter Northing elected to the Board.  A new senior executive fromTelefonica Jose Valles, was also elected.  Directors from Electronic Arts and KPMG were re-elected to serve alongside the incumbent Board members from The CocaCola Company, Qtel Group, A&N Media, mBlox and Incomm and MEF’s Regional Chairs.

The election took place at the annual AGM ahead of the 9th annual Meffys Awards held at the Park Lane Hotel, London.   At the AGM, Andrew Bud, Co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer mBlox was re-elected as Global Chair and Peter Parmenter, Head of New Platforms and OEM, Electronic Arts was re-elected as Vice-Chair.

The Global Board represents major verticals and vendors across the mobile value chain as well as representatives from the trade association’s EMEA, North America, Latin America and Asia Chapters ensuring the organisation is well positioned to help deliver continued growth of the mobile content and commerce industry, creating a robust and trusted ecosystem for consumers.
