Online Photo Printing Takes Up Hardly Any Of Your Time

The chief advantage which online photo printing has over its film based predecessors is the degree of control exercised by the person who originally took the photographs.

More Information

The moment you press the shutter on your camera, to the moment when you’re holding your prints in your hands, every facet will be yours to control, meaning that you don’t pay for any prints you aren’t entirely happy with.

The other most attractive and convenient aspect of online photo printing is the sheer speed and simplicity with which you can get it done. Before digital technology, of course, the actual photographs were captured on a physical roll of film which was, in its’ own right, actually very fragile. Not only would it be ruined if it was exposed to light in any way, but it was also liable to scratch, split and tear if handled with anything less than the utmost care. This meant that, once you’d remove it from your camera, the job of producing photo prints was one which had to be undertaken by trained and qualified professionals.

A lot of the time, this would mean handing your film in at your local chemists’ shop or else, sometimes, actually posting it away to a lab based in an entirely different part of the country. Either way, you might have a considerable wait before getting your hands on the photographs, and absolutely no input into what happened before then. You might be particularly pleased with a certain image, for example, to the point at which you’d like several copies or even enlargements made to share with friends and family. By the time you’d seen the photograph in question and decided this, you’d have to start the process all over again, handing your negative back.

Alternatively, there might be one or more photographs which you’re really not happy with – either they just don’t look as good as you’d expected, or you’d made basic mistakes such as getting the lighting or framing wrong. Once again, you wouldn’t find out until after the event, by which time you’d already paid, even for the pictures you don’t really want.

Using digital technology to make photo prints, on the other hand, means that you’re firmly in control from start to finish. As soon as you’ve taken a photograph you can check it on the screen of your camera and then decide whether you want to keep it or not. All the images you do keep can be uploaded to the place where you’re getting your printing done, and there you’re the one who gets to make all the decisions over matters such as the size and shape of the photographs, the type of paper used and even the actual cropping and framing of the images. Only when you’re completely happy will they be printed and, even then, if you have a particular favourite you can order as many copies as you like at little extra cost.

Because digital images are so flexible, actually turning them into photographs is only the start of what you can do with them. Particularly stunning images, for example, can be turned into unique and personal works of art by having them printed as full sized bespoke canvas prints.
