Creating Connections for Commercialization and Growth Alliance to focus on joint networking, strategic collaboration and making deeper connections with the Halton technology industry with members of the private investment community.

In early August of 2011 Silicon Halton and Golden Horseshoe Venture Forum (GHVF) met to learn more about each others communities/organizations and explore ways that we could help the members of the Silicon Halton community and the stakeholders from GHVF.

From those two meetings we both saw immediate synergies based on our philosophies on the role we can and should play in helping companies and business professionals grow and thrive in Halton region. It became clear that the things that matter the most to Silicon Halton like focusing on helping people and companies grow and be successful were shared with GHVF.

We saw that working together to promote what we are doing and expose our members to each other could enhance the value we offer to them. In order to do that we've decided to align ourselves reciprocal sponsors in these core areas:

Awareness and Networking:

- To create public and member awareness about our relationship with each other and what it means to our Halton region and our members

- To promote upcoming events and activities that provide members with the opportunity to meet new people and grow their own social networks

- To give members access to a group of experienced investors and business leaders that can provide financing and quality advice

Commercialization and Growth:

- For GHVF to participate in Silicon Halton's what's next planning process taking place later this fall

- To offer a joint program that is exclusive to Silicon Halton and GHVF members focused on the commercialization of new ideas and products in established companies.

Special Events:

- To jointly produce special events that are focused on helping technology individuals, startups and companies be successful in Halton.

Core Facts

Silicon Halton is a grass roots technology community serving people and companies in technology that live and/or work in Halton region.
Silicon Halton was founded in 2009 and has over 500 individual members representing over 200 companies.
Silicon Halton members participate in monthly meetups, networking events and special peer to peer groups.
Golden Horseshoe Venture Form, founded in 2000 has over 700 members across a variety of industry sectors in the Golden Horseshoe area
Golden Horseshoe Venture Form is an industry led, private sector initiative that brings growing companies together with investors and professional service providers; to date over 148 companies have been presented to the business community
Golden Horseshoe Venture Forum's mandate is to bring capital and businesses together to educate by way of high profile industry guest speakers and to network through its five sessions per year
