Contemporary composer and Flynn favorite Phil Kline is “a true original” (New York Times) who stretches genres and contexts, from experimental electronics and sound installations to songs, theater, choral and chamber music. Performed in the intimacy of FlynnSpace, this downtown New York-style “salon” evening is full of new cutting-edge songs and chamber music composed by Kline, as well as selections from past favorites Zippo Songs, John the Revelator, and Fear and Loathing. Kline’s music is performed by legendary and Grammy-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann (long-time main man for Meredith Monk, Bang on a Can) and the youthful, white-hot, and inimitable American Contemporary Music Ensemble.
