Three Designs by Mentus Annual Reports Win Big at the LACP Vision Awards

IRVINE, Calif.—Mentus Annual Reports is proud to announce that three of its clients received top honors at LACP’s 2011 Vision Awards Annual Report Competition.  Though competition was steep – more than 5,500 entries representing upwards of two-dozen countries and 800 entities were received – Leap Wireless, Extra Space Storage, and BioMed Realty Trust all walked away with highly coveted awards.

Extra Space Storage took Platinum in their category and was ranked Top 50 in the United States and 68th overall (globally). Leap Wireless also won Platinum in their category and was ranked Top 50 in the United States and 70th overall (globally). BioMed Realty Trust took home the Gold in their category. All three were classified as being among the best annual reports within their industries this year.

The 2011 Vision Awards drew one of the largest numbers of submissions ever, representing a broad range of industries and organizational sizes. Award results were based on the judging of submissions within peer-level competition classes. The judges themselves took note of their impressions as they reviewed each report.

“This year’s annual report for Extra Space Storage (“Leading by Design”) proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition,” said Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director. “Overall, we find this work to be outstanding, earning a total score of 99 out of a maximum of 100 points.” She continued, “In summary, we congratulate the entire team involved with this year’s work.”  The judges commented, “This year’s book is notable for its elegance. Truly a very classy presentation.”

Leap Wireless was also highly praised by the judges for an “outstanding” annual report ("Focused on Smart Growth") and recieved 99 out of a maximum of 100 points. Kennedy remarked, “The first impression presented by this annual report is exceptional while the cover of the publication is superb. The letter to shareholders presented to readers is exceptional while the report narrative is outstanding.” She added, “It should also be noted that accessibility to key information sought by readers is outstanding.”

The annual report for BioMed Realty Trust, Inc. (“Creating Value”) received similar praise, the judges highlighting, “The report’s production values are among the best seen in this year’s competition. Superb.” It received 98 out of a maximum 100 points. Kennedy commented, “The level of creativity exhibited in the report judged for BioMed Realty Trust, Inc. is outstanding, which is supported by exceptional clarity in communicating this year’s key messages.”
