More Information

StickAID is the brainchild of, YouTube Super-user, Myles Dyer (aka Blade376), an active member of the YouTube community and avid broadcaster on Stickam.com (the live broadcasting website), who wanted to harness the power of online video to unite people with a common aim – to help the world.

The idea was simple - an endurance broadcast event that would reach people around the globe, the 24-hour format meant that no one was excluded due to location and time zone and the difficulty of the challenge gave the incentive to drive donations.

In 2010, and with help from other members of the YouTube community (e.g. UK largest YouTube star – Charlie McDonell), the show reached over 1.5 MILLION people and raise over $30,000 for UNICEF.

Since then Myles has started working at digital broadcaster ChannelFlip who shared the belief in the power of online video and wanted to bring their expertise to the table and drive up the production values and distribution of the event, to reach an even wider audience.

Over the years the event has grown from Myles in his bedroom to Middlesex Student Union in 2009 & 2010 and streamed exclusively on Stickam.com. This year however, the bar has been raised, the broadcasting venue has moved to Ravensbourne College, next to the O2 in London, with their expertise in digital media and their state of the art broadcast facilities.

The reach of the event has also exponentially increased as the event will be simultaneously broadcast across Stickam.com (8m users) and YouTube.com (over 300m users) in 2011.

With a view to shattering the target for donations, spots in the show, product placement and other opportunities are being offered to brands, with all proceeds going directly to UNICEF.
