Public relations professionals working toward earning the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential can download at no cost the Second Edition of the Study Guide for the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations – a Preparation Tool for Candidates, developed by the Universal Accreditation Board (UAB), the administrative body for the APR.
The updated version of the Study Guide contains new materials and instruction, case studies and exercises in contemporary public relations practices. It was revised following many hours of research and evaluation by the UAB.
The Universal Accreditation Board administers the Examination for Accreditation in Public Relations and coordinates all activities related to the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) designation. The UAB was established in 1998 by a coalition of public relations professional organizations including the Agricultural Relations Council, Asociación de Relacionistas Profesionales de Puerto Rico, Florida Public Relations Association, Maine Public Relations Council, National School Public Relations Association, Public Relations Society of America, Religion Communicators Council, Southern Public Relations Federation and Texas Public Relations Association.
• The Second Edition of the Study Guide is available to any public relations professional as a no-cost pdf document.
• The Study Guide can be downloaded at: http://www.praccreditation.org/index.html
• The Study Guide is joined by these other APR preparation resources: The Online Examination Demonstration; the Online Study Course; and, the Short Bookshelf of suggested texts.
“The guide is a great resource for candidates pursuing Accreditation, as well as anyone new to public relations or for long-time professionals who want to review specific topics of interest,” said John Forde, PhD, APR, Fellow PRSA and co-chair of the UAB Examination and Preparation Working Group. “Many colleagues have contributed to the completion of both editions of this online resource.
