Harbour Exchange has just launched a free website for the yachting, boating and watersports community at www.harbourexchange.com
At ‘Home & Info’ you can find UK weather & tide information as well as the latest sailing news.
The ‘Club House’ is a sailing social network, where people can connect to their yacht or boat crew as well as share stories, videos or photos with friends and family.
‘Bid or Buy’ enables sailors to list boats and many other yacht or boat related items for sale free of charge, as either a classified or auction.
The last section provides users with the ability to build a ‘Sailing CV’, complete with qualifications, documents and miles builder, as well as a comprehensive ‘Boat Register’ to keep all details of their boats and equipment safe.
Harbour Exchange is FREE to register for and FREE to use.
Harbour Exchange is for any and all people interested in Boats, Yachts, Sailing, Watersports, Rowing and just being on the water It is free to use and registering is very easy
In the 'Club House' you share as much as you like with whoever you want in this fully featured social network for the sailing, yachting and boating community. Creating groups to manage your sailing events, club or racing campaigns is easy. There's an event calendar to help get organised. You decide who to invite and who can have access. You can discuss on the forum, share photos, upload videos or link to youtube - even share your stories using the blog capability and bookmark great content you find on the web.
At 'Bid or Buy' users can list items with one photo for free, as either a classified or an auction. Unlike other auction sites, 'Bid or Buy' doesn't charge final fees. There are paid options to have multiple photos or enhancements to your add, but a basic listing is absolutely free. There are loads of categories including: Boats for sale and boatshare, Charter opportunities, Chandlery and Moorings, Crewing, Last Minute, Training, Dating & Free stuff
You can create an online Sailing CV to track your progress towards an RYA certificate and to build a permanent record of your sailing experience. You can even print this out and use it as evidence of your experience when chartering a boat. The Sailing CV has been designed to mirror the requirements of the RYA and is similar in format to the RYA logbook.
The Boat Register is a great safety and provenance tool. Contacts - register those such as emergency contacts and those you sail with regularly. Boats - register details like, name, type, distinguishing features and upload documents such as invoices, certificates and registration documents. Equipment - register the equipment type and details and attach a receipt so in case anything goes missing you can prove it's yours. Passage Plans - a great safety tool to enable you to log a planned passage along with those accompanying you. Stolen - if ever a boat or piece of equipment is stolen log it here and use to help the police track it down
Harbour Exchange is a UK based company set up to help keen sailors connect, share, trade and transact on a web platform dedicated to them.
