Apple iPhone owners are costing businesses up to £800 million per year by playing games on their iPhone while at work.
55% of Apple iPhone owners have admitted to playing games on their iPhone while at work, costing businesses up to £800 million per year.
The average iPhone owner spends 1 hour playing games on their gadget each week. With over 2,000,000 iPhone's now in use in the UK, this potentially stacks up to 57 million lost working hours per year.
In addition to playing games at work, 72% said they played games while using public transport, with 28% stating that they play while paying a visit to the toilet. A brave 17% have played games while taking a bath.
iBingo.co.uk, who commissioned the research, discovered that 68% of the 200 iPhone owners who were surveyed pay for games on their device. Unsurprisingly, though, social networking remains one of the primary uses of the iPhone with 90% browsing Facebook or Twitter on-the-go.
Although online bingo sites have been around since 1998, mobile bingo is a relatively new product to emerge into the market - and follows the success of devices such as the Apple iPhone. Analysis conducted in 2011 by the Office for National Statistics discovered that 45% of the UK now make use of the Internet while out and about on their mobile devices.
Just 11% of iPhone owners were aware that you could now play bingo while on the move via sites such as http://www.ibingo.co.uk, but 63% consider themselves likely to be playing bingo on their handheld device within the next 12 months.
