Monday 30th July 2012 sees the launch of lowcostholidays.com’s Blogger Relay. This unique blogging competition encourages the travel blogging community to share their ‘medal worthy memories’ in a blog post, before passing the ‘travel blogging baton’ on to another blogger.

The two month campaign is in association with top travel bloggers - Global Grasshopper, Melvin from Traveldudes and Stephanie from Travel Chica who will all be judging the competition.

In a report from ABTA, a massive 45% of people responded that friends and family inspire their choice of holiday destination, more than TV, magazines and books put together.

With a busy summer of sport and travel in 2012, lowcostholidays.com wanted to interact with travel bloggers in a sports themed competition and create an index of holiday inspiration stories from real people for its customers.

Lawrence Hunt, COO of lowcostholidays.com stated “Given how much we listen to personal recommendations when choosing a holiday, I’m excited for the Blogger Relay to create an inspirational go-to source of authentic holiday advice.”

The longest chain will win the Blogger Relay, each winning a Flex note journal from Filofax. The judges will also choose the best entry from all posts to win an iPad2, Nikon SLR digital camera and Hi-Tec walking boots.

Entrants can share their posts and encourage their team mates to keep ‘passing the baton’ on twitter using #BloggerRelay. Bloggers can join an existing team or start their own chain by emailing [email protected]. Regular round-ups of the Blogger Relay posts will be shared on the lowcostholidays.com social networks and on the judges’ websites.
