Tax Return Deadline is Looming

The 31 January deadline for 2008/09 Self Assessment tax returns is just a few days away.

If you haven’t yet submitted your 2008/09 tax return to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), you must do so online, as the 31 October deadline for paper tax returns has now passed.

If you file your tax return after 31 January, or you file on paper after 31 October, you could be liable to a £100 late-filing penalty.

31 January 2010 is also the deadline for paying any tax you owe for the 2008/09 tax year.

If you haven’t yet submitted your return, don’t forget - it must be on time and online.
